Three ways to use essential oils

Aromatically

A diffuser is a great way to benefit from therapeutic oils to support mood management and respiratory functions. No diffuser: Add a drop of oil in the palm of your hands, rub them together and cup your hands over your nose and inhale deeply.

Topically

Essential oils reach the bloodstream within 20 seconds of applying oils to the area of concern. It takes 20 minutes to be distributed throughout the entire body. Always dilute oils with a carrier oil to avoid skin sensitivity. ALWAYS dilute for children.

Internally

I only trust doTERRA oil for internal use for my family. All oils are not created equal as the purity can vary greatly. If it's safe to use internally, the bottle will be clearly labelled if it is approved for internal use. One drop of quality oil can be added to water or tea. Lime, wild orange, lemon are great to add to water for a nice flavor.

Protocol 1

  • 4 drops of grapefruit essential oil in glass of water or under the tongue OR
  • A few drops of Grapefruit essential oil over your liver, thyroid and kidneys

Protocol 2

A few drops of Frankincense essential oil over the adrenals, heart, temples, and one drop under your tongue

Notes

Avoid sunlight in the area where you applied protocol for up to 12 hours.  Citrus oils are considered photosensitive.  For example, if you applied protocol to the thyroid area, then care must be taken to avoid UV in that area.
